See how a DSR rate is built
Most DSR 2023 rates are worked out in the CPWD Analysis of Rates. Open any item to see the labour, material and machinery behind its rate, line by line.
2,964 analyses from DAR 2023 and its correction slips, and each one from the book shows the page it is printed on.
Every rate shows where it comes from.
The rate shown is the rate CPWD prints. Every analysis from the book shows the volume and page, so you can check it in your own copy of the DAR.
2,964 analyses from both volumes of DAR 2023 and CPWD’s 11 correction slips, and 2,956 of them give the same rate CPWD prints using our own arithmetic, having 99.7% accuracy.
- Every analysis from the book shows the volume and page it is printed on, so you can check it in your own copy.
- Click any item to expand it and see the basic rates.
- Where the book’s own figures do not add up, or its rate is not the DSR rate, the item page highlights it.
Adjust one rate and see how it affects other items.
Cement goes into mortar 3.4, and that mortar goes into plaster 13.1.1. Change the cement rate and both of them are calculated again.
Item 3.4 uses 0.38 tonne of cement in every cum, and item 13.1.1 uses 0.144 cum of that mortar for every 10 sqm. So when cement goes to 6,000.00 a tonne, the plaster goes up by 6.60 a sqm, which is 1.90%.
| Item | In the book | With cement at 6,000.00 |
|---|---|---|
| 0367 Portland Cementper tonneIn the book 5,156.00 | 6,000.00 | |
| 3.4 Cement mortar 1:4per cumIn the book 3,708.80 | 4,029.50 | |
| 13.1.1 12 mm cement plaster 1:4per sqmIn the book 347.05 | 353.65 |
This is the same arithmetic the item page uses, and with nothing changed it gives CPWD’s own rate on 2,956 of the 2,964 analyses.
